Job Title: Finance & Business Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: CEO
Department: Administration
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance & Business Director leads the YMCA’s financial operations and human resources functions, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with all accounting standards, legal requirements, and YMCA policies. This position oversees budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, benefits administration, audits, and financial planning, and serves as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director and Board. This role ensures that the Y maintains a sound financial position to support its mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct and oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, grants, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the annual budget development process and provide budgetary guidance to departments.
- Manage payroll processing and related tax filings, benefits enrollment, and retirement plan submissions.
- Administer and ensure compliance with all human resources policies and labor laws, including onboarding, personnel records, background checks, and compensation systems.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and YMCA finance standards.
- Coordinate the annual financial audit and serve as liaison with external auditors.
- Support grant administration including financial tracking and reporting for federal, state, local, and private funding sources.
- Ensure timely submission of all financial reports to YMCA of the USA and governmental entities.
- Support the YMCA’s fundraising and campaign efforts through financial reporting, donor stewardship, and audit documentation.
- Monitor cash flow and develop financial forecasts and analysis for strategic planning.
- Provide technology and systems oversight for financial operations in collaboration with IT support vendors.
- Serve as a member of the leadership team and provide financial insight to support decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or YMCA environment.
- Proven knowledge of accounting software, budget preparation, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit preparation, and grant reporting.
- Experience managing HR systems and understanding of employment law preferred.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.

As a Golf Cart MechanicTechnician, you’ll be responsible for assembling and upgrading golf carts with custom features including lifts, lighting, upholstery, audio systems, service and repairs.
Ideal Candidate
- Self-starter who can take initiative with minimal supervision
- Works well in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of engines, tools, and wiring
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship

Responsibilities
- Assemble, modify, and customize gas/electric golf carts
- Mechanical work on gas engines and battery systems
- Install accessories and custom parts (wheels, seats, body kits, lights, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Ensure quality control on every build
Requirements
- Must have knowledge of gas engines and basic electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail are essential
- Prior experience in assembly, auto tech, and mechanical work preferred
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet
- Must be 18+ years old with a valid drivers license
Location: Oskaloosa, Iowa
Pay: Starting at $15 - $20 an hour based on experience with potential increase
