The Mahaska County Conservation Board invites homeschool and online school families to the monthly Homeschool Science Lab on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 am or 1:00-2:00 pm at the Mahaska County Environmental Learning Center. The same program will be offered twice on this day, so you can choose to participate in either session. The topic this month will be "Lego Molecules" and kids will learn about molecules using Legos! This activity is great for the older kids (8 and older) that are studying about atoms and molecules. This hands-on activity will offer a fun way to build molecules and learn about about the Periodic Table of the Elements. This program is free and reservations are needed to participate by November 2. If you are not a coffee drinker, you are still welcome to participate! While at the Coffee Club, we have a great time visiting and learning about fascinating things about nature and MCCB. Bring a coffee cup showing fall colors and fill it with our hot brewed coffee. Reservations are not needed - just stop in. We meet inside the Environmental Learning Center's Discovery Lab. While you are there you will also learn about the fall activities and events with MCCB. Feel free to look around at the exhibits during your visit. There are many great displays to see in the ELC!
