Hope in the Mourning

This non-denominational group provides opportunities to move forward in grief with hope and understanding. It is a safe place to share, cry, ask questions, learn, find comfort, and move forward. The group meets the first and third Tuesday April through August in the lounge area at the top of the stairs in First Christian Church.

OWLS "Christmas Potluck & Games"

The Mahaska County Conservation Board invites adults of any age to the O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Souls) a special "Christmas Potluck & Games" day on Friday, December 16th from 11:30 am -12:30pm at the Mahaska County Environmental Learning Center at Caldwell Park. Each month we spend lunch time learning about interesting places and events in our county. At our December gathering, we will have fun visiting with each other while we share a potluck meal and holiday games. Please bring a main dish, side dish or dessert. On Sunday, December 18th at 10:30 am the First Presbyterian Church is hosting an All-Church Christmas play featuring three choirs children’s, adult, and bell choir. Youth and adults in the play and special music ensembles. Following the service, our Presbyterian Women’s group is hosting a free-will offering Lasagna Luncheon.
