Oskaloosa City Band!

The Oskaloosa City Band begins its Summer Concert Series the first Thursday of June and generally ends on the first Thursday in August. The band has been performing Summer Concerts every year since 1864. The band performs a variety of music each night to please all ages.

Join the Oskaloosa City Band in the Norman Rockwell setting of the bandstand in the downtown city park! Local businesses provide free popcorn, lemonade, iced tea, bottled water and more! Fundraising organizations sell pie by the slice, while ice cream, shaved ice and other treats are available for purchase as well. Park benches are available but you might want to bring your favorite lawn chair or a blanket to relax under the shade trees while listening to the soothing sounds of the City Band. We hope to see you there!!

Wine & Wood Fired Oven Pizza Night by Reservation Only

5:00–8:30 p.m.—Pizza served until 8:00 p.m. Enjoy a glass of Tassel Ridge wine ($6–$12) with your favorite individual Wood Fired Oven Pizza ($15–$18). Choose an Apple Bacon Cheddar Pizza ($15); a Margherita Pizza with Fresh Basil and Fresh Mozzarella ($15); a Pepperoni, Black Olive, and Shredded Mozzarella Pizza ($15); or Steak & Potato Pizza with Seasoned Steak, Red Potatoes, Shredded Mozzarella, Blue Cheese Crumbles, Oregano, and NO pizza sauce ($18); and pair it with a Caesar Side Salad with Romaine, Croutons, Shaved Parmesan Cheese, and Caesar Dressing ($4). Seating is limited and is arranged to allow for Social Distancing. Wearing a mask in the Winery is optional. The Tasting Bar will NOT be open, but Seated Tastings, also by Reservation only, will be available to enjoy before your meal. Our Seated Tastings include your choice of one of seven Tasting Flights. Flights include five wines, freshly baked bread, Frisian Farms Young Gouda, and Tassel Ridge® Dipping Oil, and depending on Flight, Warm Roasted Salted Cashew Nuts. Price $15–$25 per flight. 2023 Summer Reading Program KICKOFF!

The Oskaloosa Public Library is once again starting the Summer Reading Program with a KICKOFF at the Library! Come join us for POPCORN, HOT DOGS, YARD GAMES, and FUN! This year's theme is "Read, Watch Your World Grow". Children, Teens, and Adults will be able to expand their corner of the world through books and programs. In case of inclement weather, the KICKOFF will be held on the 3rd floor of the Library. Don't forget to register for the Summer Reading Program while you're here or by visiting the website. Participants will learn basic kitchen skills as well as make food from produce. The day will be filled with fun nutritional activities and lessons! At the end of the camp, youth will have the skills to prepare a meal of their own.

Navy and Gold Gala - William Penn University

William Penn University's largest fundraising event of the year, the Navy and Gold Gala supports the athletic Booster Club and scholarship funds for students.

There will be a silent auction and a large-item raffle (including a Clow Bench, a TV and more!) taking place while guests also participate in trivia and decorating their very own Willy P canvas.

The cost of a table of 8 is $500, while the individual ticket price is $75.

Stang Invasion - Mustangs Unstabled Event

Join 700+ Mustangs for a massive cruise with meet spots in Omaha, Des Moines and Iowa City as we roll into the track. We will have separate events with the meet spots and times.

Once at the track enjoy drag racing from 11am till dark. Love loud cars and burnouts? Take part in our burnout and exhaust contest.

The event is FREE to attend! Racing costs $40 per car.

VIP passes will be available at a later date with some killer perks! We will open the track at 4pm to a Mustangs vs The World where various car clubs, including the Camaro Club, IACW, and the Corvette Club will join in on the fun.

This event will be open to all makes and models.

The Oskaloosa City Band begins its Summer Concert Series the first Thursday of June and generally ends on the first Thursday in August. The band has been performing Summer Concerts every year since 1864. The band performs a variety of music each night to please all ages.

Join the Oskaloosa City Band in the Norman Rockwell setting of the bandstand in the downtown city park! Local businesses provide free popcorn, lemonade, iced tea, bottled water and more! Fundraising organizations sell pie by the slice, while ice cream, shaved ice and other treats are available for purchase as well. Park benches are available but you might want to bring your favorite lawn chair or a blanket to relax under the shade trees while listening to the soothing sounds of the City Band. We hope to see you there!!

Wine & Wood Fired Oven Pizza Night by Reservation Only

5:00–8:30 p.m.—Pizza served until 8:00 p.m. Enjoy a glass of Tassel Ridge wine ($6–$12) with your favorite individual Wood Fired Oven Pizza ($15). Choose an Apple Bacon Cheddar Pizza; a Beef Taco Pizza with Cheddar, Lettuce, Black Olives, Tortilla Chips, Shredded Mozzarella, and Salsa; a Margherita Pizza with Fresh Basil and Fresh Mozzarella; a Pepperoni, Black Olive, and Shredded Mozzarella Pizza; and pair it with a Caesar Side Salad with Romaine, Croutons, Shaved Parmesan Cheese, and Caesar Dressing ($4). Seating is limited and is arranged to allow for Social Distancing. Wearing a mask in the Winery is optional. The Tasting Bar will NOT be open, but Seated Tastings, also by Reservation only, will be available to enjoy before your meal. Our Seated Tastings include your choice of one of seven Tasting Flights. Flights include five wines, freshly baked bread, Frisian Farms Young Gouda, and Tassel Ridge® Dipping Oil, and depending on Flight Warm Roasted Salted Cashew Nuts. Price $15–$25 per flight. Pressure Canner Gauge Testing

Dial gauges should be checked annually for accuracy prior to canning season. 

Only the pressure canner gauge is needed for testing unless the lid needs further inspection. 

Canner lids or gauges maybe dropped off at the Extension office prior to July 15 and/or picked up after the event. 

Brands that CAN be tested: Presto, Steamliner, Lakeside Aluminum, Kook Kwik, Maid of Honor and Magic Seal. 

Brands that CAN NOT be tested: Burpee, National, or All American.
